A wavy edge bowl made of oak burr with amazing colour differences.
The wood was given to me in 2013 when I discovered it when collecting some cherry wood from a large and very secluded garden near Godalming in Surrey. A very large oak tree had been struck by lightning and consequently burned down - a couple of large burrs were fortunately saved.
This is my last piece of this burr - such a joy to turn! I made several pieces for the family. I'd love to find some more like this!
